We understand that clearing a house, for whatever reason, can be a difficult time. How does it work?
Our House Clearance Service is undertaken by our team of trained, professional staff and volunteers. A member of our team will come along to assess the property, or you can send images to us, and we can then quote based on your requirements. We deal with properties of any size; the service is tailored to your needs and the house clearance will always be carried out with respect.
The cost charged for the clearance will depend on the size of the property, the number of items for removal/disposable and the proportion of saleable items. All quotations given will be bespoke to each clearance.
What will be included?

We will pack and remove all saleable items from the property.

We also offer clearance of lofts, garages, sheds and outhouses if required.

We will clear white goods, washing machines, fridge freezers, dishwashers etc., providing they are disconnected first or a quote can be given if you wish this service.

We will clear all electricals except ovens wired into the mains – or a quote for this service can be provided.

For an additional fee we will thoroughly vacuum, clean and wipe all surfaces – including skirting boards.
What do you do with the items you remove in the house clearance?

All saleable items will be sold in our shops.

We will recycle as many unsaleable items as we can.

Any items that cannot be recycled in their current form, will be disposed of. We hold a license for this and we also may use the services of skip hire and other companies if the property has a lot of items that cannot be sold or recycled. We will ensure that as much as possible all items disposed of are broken down as much as possible for each component to be recycled. For example – a mattress will be broken down and all metal removed, all fabric and foam separated to be recycled through specialist organisations.
Any quotation will cover some of our costs for the house clearance, including the disposal of unsaleable items. Any and all net profit from the income from the House Clearance Service is donated to Farleigh Hospice.
Any profit from items sold within Farleigh Hospice shops or online, as well as the income from recycling, goes directly to the work of Farleigh Hospice and the care they offer in the Mid Essex Community for those who need end-of-life care and bereavement support.
If you own the items and are happy to donate them as part of this process, you can Gift Aid any item, and by doing so, you can help us raise more money for the care Farleigh Hospice offers in the process.
We are happy to liaise with a third party – solicitors and estate agents – and can collect keys from them in order to view, quote, and clear the property once our terms and conditions and the charge for the clearance have been paid.
